My Story of This Month – 1

Do you want to know, what is a first sentence that I heard when I began as shrimp culture technician ? “Shrimp science is expensive !” The sentence spoken by a senior shrimp culture practitioner in response to a question that I asked to him about how he knew that the shrimp in a pond have been hit by problems and longest one week must be harvested, while visually shrimp within the pond looks good.

Watchful Against Rainy Season

Indonesia as a tropical nation has two seasons in one year, namely (i) the rainy season and (ii) the dry season. Both seasons are very influential on shrimp farming systems primarily associated with the technical cultivation. In this discussion will be elaborated on the need to alert the rainy season in shrimp culture activities, because at this moment in Indonesia ongoing rainy season.

Food Veterinary Office of European Union (FVO-EU) declared their satisfied on Indonesia shrimp culture after done the inspection in November 19-30. Director General of Processing and Marketing of Fisheries Product„Fisheries and Marine Affairs Department, Martani Huseini said, EU team was visited some shrimp ponds in East Java and also in Jakarta.
