Indonesia Aquaculture Community (Masyarakat Akuakultur Indonesia – MAI)

Indonesia Aquaculture Community (Masyarakat Akuakultur Indonesia – MAI) was declared 30 October 2001 at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Semarang (Central Java), together with Indonesia Aquaculture Seminar 2001. The initiator of this community was: Agung Sudaryono; and as facilitator: Prof. Dr. dr. Ign. Riwanto, Sp.BD (Head of UNDIP Research Institute), while it declared by: Dr.Fatuchri Sukadi, Dr.Agung Sudaryono, R.P. Poernomo, Dr.Endhay K. Kontara, Prof. Dr.Johannes Hutabarat, Dr. Edison Saade, Drs.Kurnia Subakti, MM.

MAI have been decree at 7 June 2002 by Prof. Dr. Ir. Rokhmin Dahuri, MSc (Ministry of Marine Affair and Fishery) at BBAP.

MAI give a platform for members to share information and knowledge, to develop information network with several colleagues which same interest and care to MAI. This group invite any parties or head of institution, ministries, private sectors or regulation makers to plan an association to present a scientific meeting agenda or business or exhibition in connection with aquaculture.

Agronusery is an Indonesia’s group that provided for persons who interest with agribusiness and it related others (agriculture, animal husbandry, aqua/shrimp culture, etc). In addition, this group also provided to interrelationship between members, like information sharing, discussion, product advertising, etc.

Agromania is Indonesia’s agribusiness entrepreneurs media that it be founded at 31 July 2000. At present agromania have 5472 members, with several bacgrounds (agriculture, plantation, landscape and flowers, aquaculture and ornamental fish, animal husbandry, agroindustry and food). This media is provided to interrelationship between members (advertising, information, discussion, etc).

Agromania also have thousands relation network in Indonesia and arroud foreign countries. In addition, the detail information about agromania are among others :

1. Scope of areas : Indonesia and arroud foreign countries;
   
   
2. Scope of objects : fruits, vegetables, livestocks, plants, parks, crops, medicine plants, processing machines, agriculture machines, foods, drinks, ornamnetal fish, forest, fertilizer, fish, seeds, beans, meats, spices, agriculture, aquaculture, hydrophonic, horticulture, etc.;
   
   
3. Scope of members : entrepeneurs, exporters/importers, sellers/buyers, producers, farmers, etc.;
   
   
4. Scope of contents : service information, agrobusiness product advertising, agrobusiness job opportunuties, discussion forum, consultancies, list of address, price information, etc.

SCI_2007

Shrimp Club Indonesia (SCI) is a shrimp farmers association, was formed in 2005 and it founded by Iwan Sutanto (until present Iwant Sutanto is as president of SCI). SCI has 360 members, mostly intensive shrimp farms, on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Sulawesi, Lombok, Sumbawa and Bali.

In order to accommodated all informations (photos, data, etc.) from SCI members also inter-exchange/consultation inter shrimp farmers in Indonesia, SCI has been formed a mail-list with name SCI_2007 that it was formed at 5 September 2007 and until present SCI_2007 have 51 members.

Any topics which related with shrimp culture (diseases, national/regional/internal markets, shrimp culture techniques, job vacancies, shrimp fries, shrimp feeds, medicine for shrimp culture, chemicals, fertilizers, etc) also can be discussed. Beside topics above, this group also discuss about products that related with shrimp culture.

A topic that more being discussed is sharing about successfull of managing vannamei shrimp culture from various area with technical shrimp culture from this group members.
