Shrimp Culture Management at First Month Phase 04 – The Problems of Pond Water Environment

At discussion before there have been explained discussion related with shrimp culture management at first month phase. Generally, an objective of the management is to provide a pond water environment media which matching with requirement level of fry/small shrimps. Peculiarly the objective of the management is to minimize problem happening that able to harm for shrimp culture process at the period. At discussions before have also been explained that mainly problems which happened in pond water can be reasoned by existence of 3 (three) factors there are:

1. External factors, there is the problems that caused by the factors that coming from outside of pond water environment including: (i) weather and climate, and (ii) environment of source of water inlet that residing around the pond.
   
   
2. Internal factors, there is the problems that caused by the factors that coming from inside of pond water itself. This factor emerges caused by a change within pond water so it can resulting annoyed of ecosystem balance of pond water itself.
   
   
3. Treatment error factors, there is the problems that caused by human error factors on implementing a shrimp culture technical treatment, so it can reason a problems within the pond water.

Relate at above mentioned description, hence in shrimp culture management at first month phase nor quit of the problems which possibly happened at this phase. Some ordinary problems which happened at first month phase shrimp culture mainly also caused by external factors, internal factors and treatment error factors. If evaluated from characteristics of shrimp culture at first month phase, hence a monitoring to became problems symptom is also needed to do carefully so that problems can detected early so that don't become a more serious constraint for the management of the next phase.

The problems which able to happened at first month phase of shrimp culture at this discussion will be evaluated based on the problems that happened at (i) pond water environment, and (ii) condition/quality of fry/small shrimps.

The problems of pond water environment at first month phase, there are among others:

1. A moss becoming grows at pond bottom. The problems caused by a high brightness of pond water and it happened at long time so that sunshine can penetrate to pond bottom on long time too. This factor become as stimulant factor for moss growing. The moss existence will cause a forming process of water brightness become harder. This situation indirectly also will have an effect on to condition of fry/small shrimps which residing within pond water.
   
   An alternative of problems handling to moss growing is by lifting / clean the moss in pond bottom beforehand, then continued with process of pond water forming which balanced with fertilizer giving shall be obtained pond water brightness like expected. Note: during pond water brightness still in a bottom penetrate condition / high brightness, discontinue fertilizer giving because it will fertilize the moss in pond bottom.
   
   
2. Some kind of shells becoming appear in pond bottom. The existence of the shells has an effect on to forming process of pond water brightness. The alternative of problems handling which generated by the shells often same with moss problems handling. 3. Dirty algae becoming appear on pond water surface. This phenomenon happened because a happening of oxidize process in pond bottom which stimulated by sunshine aid (pond water brightness is very high/penetrate to pond bottom) so at selected time a dirt in pond bottom will upraised to pond water surface. The alternative of problems handling which generated by the shells often same with moss problems handling. (The discussion related with dirty algae has been explained at solutions before)
   
   
4. Predators and competitors becoming appear within pond water. This phenomenon happened more caused by lack of water inlet filtration so that seed of predators and competitors can come spatially into the pond water. This factor can have an effect on to shrimp density/population at the period. (The discussion related with predators and competitors shrimp has been explained at solutions before).

The problems like above mentioned is some ordinary problems which happened a first month phase of shrimp culture related to condition/quality of pond water. The possibility of the problems appearance can be minimized if process of preparation of fry disperses can be conducted carefully and optimally or in another word the preparation of fry disperses land is not preparing recklessly.
